The Medina Township Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting

Purpose: Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting
Present: Shawn Garner, Supervisor
Cam Parr, Trustee
Cindy Greene, Trustee
Mary Sundermeyer, Clerk
Absent: Mike Molohon, Trustee
Other Officials and Township Staff Present:
Frank Sturm II, Road Commissioner

Call To Order: Supervisor Shawn Garner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm
Approval of Minutes: Clerk Mary Sundermeyer presented the minutes from the regular board meeting held on May 10, 2023. Shawn made a motion to approve the minutes. Cindy Greene seconded. The minutes were approved by a unanimous voice vote.
Community Policing Report:
Deputy Ben Davison gave the report for May 2023. There were 78 reports made involving 28 reports of 15 original reports of crimes. Please remember to lock your cars. As the weather warms up, there is more activity and people looking for crimes of opportunity. Use common sense to deal with scams and report any suspicious activity.

New Business:
Shawn received a Park Agreement from IVC but there was no Certificate of Insurance (COI) included. He will present this again next month. The agreement is for August.
Department Correspondence:
Supervisor Shawn Garner:
- Investment Report: the report ending on June 14 was previously presented to the board.
- There are no General Assistance cases.
- There is 1 case before the Plan Commission.
Road Commissioner: Frank Sturm
- Crews filled potholes for 3-4 weeks.
- They are now prepping tractors and mowers for the mowing season.
- They replaced 2 culverts in Alta Gardens.
- Tazewell County Asphalt gave us 1000 tons of asphalt millings leftover from Mossville schools.
- Removed a tree at Poplar Dr. and Silverleaf.
- Putting final items together for maintenance program.
- Bridge beams have been set on Dickinson Ln.
Assessor: Mark Brabant – The books are closed at the end of June. Every 3 years there is a general assessment done for Peoria County properties. The reassessment letters will go out in August and will show an increase of 10-13%. This is due to the high price of houses sold.
Plan Commission: Has one case pending.
Trustees: None
Township/Road District Bills:
Shawn made a motion to pay the bills of the township. Cam seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a unanimous voice vote.
Adjournment:
Cam made a motion to adjourn and Cindy seconded it. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:43 pm.
