The Board of Trustees met at the Medina Township Office

 

 located at 10628 N. Galena Road, Mossville, Illinois on October 12th, 2016

 

 

 

Purpose:         Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting

 

 

 

Present:         John H. Dawson, Supervisor

 

Cam Parr, Trustee              

 

                        Shawn E. Garner, Clerk

 

Mike Molohon, Trustee

 

                        Adam Gudat, Trustee

 

Richard Clinch, Trustee

 

 

 

Other Officials and Township Staff Present: 

 

 

 

Others In Attendance:  4 residents attended. 

 

 

 

Call To Order:  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Dawson followed by pledge of allegiance to the flag.

 

 

 

Minutes:

 

Clerk, Garner, presented the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting held September 14th, 2016. Supervisor Dawson moved to approve, as presented, seconded by Trustee Clinch followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.

 

 

 

Community Policing Report:  Deputy Rial reported several motor vehicle burglaries otherwise quiet in township.

 

 

 

Public Input: 

 

Supervisor Dawson recognized Bill Popielarski.  He believes traffic level near Mossville Fire Station has reached level to warrant a stop sign.  He has safety concern.  Road Commissioner is aware and will have to contact county to address.  Supervisor and board thanked him for his service to fire district.

 

 

 

Supervisor Dawson recognized Dan McNaught.  He reported the association had 13 teams with 158 players and hosted six tournaments.  Second year of operating with licensed food service for concession was successful improving revenues.  Thanked township for fencing upgrades.  Brad Wallin Tournament was very successful with no games lost to weather raising over $100,000 for St. Jude.  Dumpster has been removed to avoid offseason problems.  He presented board with team photos and expressed gratitude for support of township.

 

 

 

Correspondence & Reports

 

 

 

Supervisor, John Dawson:

 

  1. Investment Report:  The Investment Report ending on October 12th, 2016 was accepted as presented by the board.

 

 

 

 

 

Road Commissioner, Frank Sturm, II: 

 

Written report presented by Clerk:

 

     1.  All of our road projects are either completed or will be shortly.

 

     2.  We completed 3 erosion repair projects; on Wonderview Court, Whispering Woods

 

          Drive & Woodside Drive.

 

     3.  We are now prepping the leaf vacs for leaf pickup.

 

     4.  Our new tandem should be ready in a couple of weeks, just waiting for plow hitch.

 

     5.  IEPA & Pat Meyer completed their inspection of our facilities, and everything is fine.  We    

 

          need to post the annual report that Pat does on our website.  I will talk to Pat about that.

Plan Commission, Brady Miller, Chairperson:

Informational Review on Plan Commission Case 056-16 Variance:  Supervisor Dawson reviewed case.  Applicant purchased property to build outbuilding measuring 36’ by 72’ to store a motorhome.  Commission voted against variance.  Township counsel advised that property owner was seeking appeal to board of planning commission’s decision.  Supervisor Dawson directed counsel to advise property owner to pursue case with ZBA.

 

 

 

Pay Township Bills

 

 

 

Township/Road District Bills Audited:  All bills of the Town and the Road District were audited and approved for payment.  All bank accounts were reconciled and found to be in order. Trustee Molohon moved to pay the bills, seconded by Trustee Parr followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.

 

 

 

Adjournment:  There being no further business to come before the board, Supervisor Dawson moved to adjourn, seconded by Trustee Gudat: followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:58 PM.
